Here it is March
already..., we put our “clocks” ahead this past weekend, a
sure sign that spring is just around the corner!
Some important news to share
with you. To better serve our customers, we have moved to a
larger facility. Please see our new contact information and
telephone numbers below.
In our last newsletter we talked about
operating in survival mode, and competing with your
competition who may be using automation in their
manufacturing processes. This again will be the theme of
this newsletter. As everyone knows the economy is starting
to “heat-up” again.
Is it time for your company to save some
money and work more efficiently? |

We have moved!
We bought a larger facility and moved our
operations to this new location here in Windsor.
Unfortunately for us “Bell” wouldn’t let us keep our
existing “land line” numbers even though we moved within the
same city.
Here is our new address and contact
information:
Quigg International
1740 Moro Drive
Windsor, ON

Our new home
Our new home has over 25,000 sqft of
manufacturing space. Our machine shop capacity has tripled
in size and we now have 4 overhead cranes to efficiently
move machinery and supplies through-out our facility.
We are proud to say that we accomplished this
move with no time lost to our production schedules, but we did
have one “hiccup”, did I mention that “Bell” wouldn’t let us
keep our old phone numbers?
Anyway, getting back to the increase in our
machine shop capacity. We now have the in-house capabilities
to fabricate just about anything in a timely manner. We have
added some experienced craftsmen to our team, and we are
able to work around the clock, if required, to get the job
done.
We would welcome the opportunity to quote on
any of your machining needs. |

What we are hearing.
In our last newsletter I was saying that a
turn-around in the manufacturing sector was expected to
begin in the 3rd or early 4th quarter of 2009. The
indications are that yes, things are improving out there.
Don’t get me wrong, it is still a tough go,
but the “pained” look on a lot of the faces of the people I
spoke too a few months ago, has now softened, and you can
even hear a little optimism in some of their voices.
What does it all mean?
I believe that now is the time to have
Quigg International
drop by and look at your operations. Those of you that know
us, know that we “tell it like it is”. If there are no
savings to be found through automation then that’s what we
will tell you.
If there are however, opportunities for
improvement in your manufacturing processes, through the use
of automation, then we will recommend these improvements and
together come up with solutions, all while working within
your budget.

How can your company get ahead?
Here at
Quigg International
we constantly preach that
companies must be “forward thinking” or “proactive” in order
to maintain or grab a piece of the work that is out there.
Can you imagine playing
chess and only thinking one move ahead? The manufacturing
sector is like a chess game, sometimes you play defence,
sometimes you have to go on offence, but you have to have a
plan.
Once you get past the daily
“bumps” of running a business, you have to have at least a
3-6 month plan so that everyone can work in the same
direction towards the same goal.
Remember, when you quote on
work, you will be quoting against companies that have
automation in their facilities. Is your company in a
position to take advantage of the opportunities and compete
with your competition?
Controlling Costs
To help control costs, we
offer to our customers the option of using used/refurbished
equipment. In many cases our customers already own used
equipment and they have us clean, re-condition, test and
calibrate it so that we can then re-integrate it back into
production.
At
Quigg International
we have the skill and know
how to bring equipment back to life. Using refurbished or
buying used can make for significant cost savings in the
total scope of your project.
At
Quigg International
we can also provide the
required fixtures and tooling for your application.
